What is Momentis?

Momentis is a Dallas, Texas based marketing arm of Just Energy, a publicly held energy company based in Ontario, Canada. Just Energy started up on October 17, 1997 and they supply natural gas, and electricity all over deregulated territories in Canada and the United States. They are currently doing business in California, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, Alberta and Ontario.

Momentis in and of itself offers electricity & natural gas through Just Energy, television through DirecTV and internet services through Clear Wireless.

What is the Startup Cost to Join Momentis?

The startup for Momentis is $299, and this must be done through a sponsor. The $299 pays for training and certification for product sales, and a replicated website for its sales reps.

The Momentis Compensation Plan

There are 5 ways to earn money with Momentis:

Momentum Immediate Bonuses – After finishing the online certification program they have set up, you can get $100 bonuses 30, 60, 90, and 120 days into the business. This is done by enrolling new reps or new customers. Each time you meet the requirement for that time period you get a $100 bonus. The requirements are as follows:

30 Days – 2 reps or 2 customers
60 Days – 10 reps or 10 customers
90 Days – 15 reps or 15 customers
60 Days – 20 reps or 20 customers

Mentor Bonuses – When you enroll a new rep who earns their first $100 Momentum Bonus you receive a Mentor Bonus. You only get the bonus from their first 30 day Momentum Bonus, but there’s no limit to how many you can receive, as long as you have reps earning their Momentum Bonuses. As you go up the ranks, the Mentor Bonuses get larger.
MyTeam Bonuses – I’m oversimplifying here, but essentially, you teach 3 to reach 3 and get bonuses for when they do.
MyLeadership Bonuses – Without getting too wordy, you help your team go higher in ranks, you get paid more. When you hit the level of Senior Director is when you start getting bonuses for people that your team brings in. The higher leadership ranks you hit, the bigger these bonus checks become.
Monthly Recurring Income – Basically you get paid a monthly percentage of your customers’/reps’ payments. You get this for unlimited levels.

The Momentis Training Program

As far as the training tools go they have the standard MLM tools, such as a replicated site, DVDs, conference calls, online back office, company conferences, etc. I will say they do go above and beyond the call of duty with the certification test to make sure the reps know exactly what it is they are marketing and selling. This, in my opinion, is sorely needed across the board in network marketing and I applaud them for including this into their training.

Final Thoughts on Momentis

One place I always check for reliability of a company is the Better Business Bureau’s website. Momentis, as of December 15, 2011, scored an A- and currently is not accredited by the BBB. Though they have had 462 complaints against them during their time in business, they have been able to resolve every last one of them at the time of this writing.

I do notice a major weak spot in their system, as I have noticed many network marketing companies fall victim to, even the big ones. That is they really do not know how to train people to really market their product or service effectively. They offer scripts and media about how to pitch a product, but people hate being pitched to. Period. Even in this day and age there is still a rampant mess of pitching about their great opportunity, even online, without really showing people WHY they would want to specifically join with you.

More importantly, and more frightening for many people, people aren’t really shown how to get new people onto their names lists after they exhausted their starting list. Let me tell you first hand that cold calling is an absolute nightmare. I would not wish that on anyone, especially natural introverts like myself.

What is greatly needed is a guiding hand to show you, step by step, how to set yourself apart from the pack, from being a rep number to someone who provides real value to people actively seeking what you have to offer. This is absolutely crucial to know if you are serious about breaking free from the corporate rat race, regardless of what business you are in.

Bellamora Review

EDIT: As of May 8, 2011, MANY things about Bellamora have changed since the writing of this article, mainly for the worse. I do not know the details, but I do know the Better Business Bureau has ranked them “F” on their scale. I will rewrite this article soon, as the massive changes that occurred have warranted it. Is Bellamora A Legitimate Home Business?

With all the BS, startups starting up on a daily basis & just plain information overload it’s way too easy nowadays to become swept up and get completely lost in all of it. Though some folks will gladly plug any one company as having its creation similar to a grand historic event, still others will come out of the woodwork to brand virtually any home business as being a thorough sham, regardless of evidence, or the lack thereof, to substantiate their claims. Somewhere in between the plugs & the supposed whistle blowing, the truth lies.

This video was recorded about Bellamora for a couple of reasons:

1. So you can have a truly 3rd party, uncorrupted point of view from somebody who is NOT a sales representative for Bellamora, and has seen a lot of MLMs come and go in the network marketing industry, in order to help you filter through the BS.
2. To supply you with important guidance on exactly how to succeed as a representative with Bellamora, if you choose to sign up in this company.

What Does Bellamora Offer?

Bellamora on the surface appears to be a network marketing company that markets its own brand of skin care products. At one point in the presentation the Bellamora line was referred to as a “cosmi-ceutical” skin care system.

Product packs start at:

$199 for the Basic Pack ($50 comm)

$299 for the Premium Pack and ($100 comm)

$499 for the Ultimate Pack ($250 comm)

Each pack containing a variety of products from the Bellamora line.

The headlining product appears to be the burn cream that kicked the whole thing off. I saw the video on the site of Dr. Miller’s story; the poor guy was scalded from head to waist with second- and third-degree burns. What he ended up doing was applying the cream he developed beforehand for skin viruses liberally on his burns, and he was completely recovered 15 days afterwards, which is just plain unheard of. The pictures they took documented his recovery and showed the results of the cream. Later, he added other ingredients to make up products for the whole skin care line.

I have to admit, I’m normally skeptical about the real effectiveness of some of the products promoted in many of the MLMs out there, but I have to say, I was shocked and impressed by that story & accompanying pictures of the burn creme.

Staying Active in Bellamora:

There is a $19.95 associate’s fee (didn’t say if it was per month or per year), and being on the autoship program to get 60 PV ($60) worth of product every month. This can be from personal purchases, retail customer purchases, or preferred customer purchases.

Is Bellamora a scam?

Looking at the BBB, Bellamora got a B rating. What lowered the score was the short length of time the company has been in business. What raised it was that no complaints were filed with the BBB, and there is sufficient background info about the company in the BBB’s database. Bellamora, as of February 7, 2011, is not accredited by the BBB.

What You Need To succeed in Bellamora

Then again, no business is perfect. There is a clear and potentially fatal flaw that could very well kill any real hopes a sales rep would have of generating a dream-lifestyle earnings and live the life they deserve.

The biggest thing I noticed in the middle of the company’s intro video was HOW they marketed this business. Their chief tactic is “person-to-person” “marketing,” also known as harassing friends & family about this new product that you’re so suddenly excited about. They talk about the social media platforms Facebook, MySpace & Twitter in passing, but it is still the same, outdated method with new lipstick: harassing friends & family.

This particular marketing “strategy” still to this day decimates numerous strong relationships because of the lack of instruction on how to truly, effectively market yourself and not acting like a frustrating nuisance.

What is necessary in order to endure (in most cases) and prosper (in all cases) in your opportunity, regardless of which business you choose, is a simple strategy to naturally bring leads directly to you, already seeking you out with credit card in hand, glad to sign on to YOUR primary company and YOUR team! Maybe you can picture how much better life can be if you utilize a proven system to help you do exactly that. If you learn to do exactly that, and team up with an experienced leader to direct you through this important process, there is no telling how far you will go with your Bellamora business.
