Digital Marketing: What Is It and How Do We Use It to Our Advantage?

What Is Digital Marketing?

digital marketingDigital marketing is simply the use of the internet and other digital media, such as digital display ads, TV, radio, and mobile phones. Just as we are also becoming more connected and more dependent on digital media in our everyday life, marketing methods generally reserved for offline use has also been far more prevalent. Now more than ever there has been massive use of digital marketing being used by direct marketers using digital mediums such as social media to get their message out about their business/product/whatever.

How Can We Use Digital Marketing to Build Our Business?

There are two major categories of digital marketing, each involving different sub-categories. Understanding these two forms of digital marketing is crucial to understanding how to best leverage each one, as well as determining which of these methods really work best for the audience we are looking to attract.

The two major forms of digital marketing, as well as their sub-categories, are as follows:

Push Digital Marketing

Push digital marketing involves the marketer actively pushing, as the name suggests, their messages and advertisements to their intended recipients. Good examples of push digital marketing are such as text messaging  and email campaigns. Other examples would be using social media using the same methodology as email or text messaging.

With this method you can be treading potentially dangerous ground, as these methods can be highly invasive. However, you can use these techniques safely (as in not get flagged for being spam) when you are using them as a way of following up with an audience you have already brought in using…

Pull Digital Marketing

Pull digital marketing is where the people you are looking to attract are actively seeking out your content. Websites, blogs, and streaming audio & video are examples of the content used for this, but as far as actual marketing these pieces of content some techniques that are widely used today are Pay-Per-Click advertising on search engines, social media, and banner ads; joint ventures where people cross-promote each other’s material; and Search Engine Optimization (SEO for short.) While it can be technically daunting at first to learn and implement, SEO can provide an avalanche of targeted leads who are looking for exactly what you are offering.

From what I have noticed with pull digital marketing, SEO tends to produce some of the highest quality traffic online, as people you want to expose your business to are actively seeking out what you have to offer.

There are methods that utilize both methods of digital marketing, such as autoresponder campaigns, that can include a banner ad or a link to more content, such as a webpage or a direct download of a particular piece of content.

As an internet marketer it is crucial to find methods from both digital marketing categories to truly get your business maximum exposure, to really drive it into high gear. However, in my experience, by far the best and most sustainable way to start building your online marketing funnel, and bring a massive flood of traffic to your content, is through Search Engine Marketing. Once you can get a page to rank on Google you will consistently get massive amounts of traffic consistently for work you only had to do once.

In the next couple weeks after the posting of this article I will be putting together a concise 7 part training series, which will focus on on how to do Search Engine Marketing like the professionals do it, as well as demystifying the entire SEO process. This post will be updated with the link the instant it becomes available.

Marketing Online and A Glimpse Into the Future of Internet Marketing

What powerful, recent changes have been brought to the world of marketing online?

marketing onlineWith the (vicious, for some) Panda update unleashed by Google, the most noticeable change was the mass slapping of many prominent article sites from the top search results. Even EzineArticles, a well-known highly reputable article site, took a massive, if not the biggest, hit (it was the only article site I personally noticed that reached the 1st page of Google with any consistency up until recently.) This came out of the blue for many internet marketers such as myself, who used articles as a primary method of lead generation for business, and it loosened more than just a few people’s teeth in the process. There are these changes that we at times don’t see coming. And then, armed with the right information, there are times that you can clearly see what is just right around the corner.

What does the future of marketing online hold for us?

A few weeks ago I was in attendance at the No Excuses Summit 2, a master marketing event for home based business owners, and in one of the keynote talks they talked about the impact that social media has had for businesses of all types over the last couple of years, and how Google is starting to take more interest than ever before.

Google has realized that no matter how smart their engineers are, no matter how advanced their algorithms get, they will never be perfect in predicting the best choices out there for any and all particular keywords. Now, thanks to how interwoven social media is nowadays with the ubiquitous “Like” and “Retweet” buttons it is now far easier than before to gauge the relevance and quality of content by the sheer number of people who have shared it.

What can this mean for marketing online in the near future?

Already, and they seem to be doing this quietly as a test run, Google has just recently released a new program called “+1.” Essentially, this is Google’s version of the “Like” button. Essentially, this means that we have the power to push any site we like up further in the ranks of Google’s search results directly in our hands. This should be a very powerful sign as to how seriously Google is starting to take social media when it comes to ranking pages on their search engine.

If you are in the SEO game, up to this point backlinks, both quality and quantity, have been the name of the game for marketing online from an off-site point of view. As backlinks will still continue to carry some weight in the internet marketing world, we can definitely expect to see social media and social bookmarking votes (like Digg, Reddit & StumbleUpon) carry far more weight in the future.

How can we take advantage of these new internet marketing trends?

How can we ensure that we will have, or continue to have, a successful internet marketing business when all these changes eventually come to pass? More importantly, if we’re just starting out in our business how can we stand a chance against businesses and pages that are already established and have all those backlinks and social media votes to begin with?

By the greatest of good graces I found a powerful service that will not only help the new player in the game of marketing online get the social media votes they desperately need to get their business off to a fast start, but also help future-proof their business from this eventual total social media shift that Google is currently in the process of making. Simply put, the choice to use this service can and will literally make or break your business.

This service is called TribePro. The service is very simple, and at the same time extremely powerful. TribePro is essentially a community of people who actively mass-promote each other’s content throughout multiple social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon and a huge amount of others through another service called OnlyWire. Essentially you find people whose material you wish to auto-syndicate, and they auto-syndicate your material in return. If you have done this at the beginning, each time you share your content with your TribePro community your content automatically gets shared throughout the social media & social bookmarking services that your auto-syndicators set up to automatically syndicate your content. Even within just a few hours of you signing on to use this service, as soon as you submit your content you can immediately have your content shared about 200-300 times literally within seconds. That means 200-300 high quality backlinks and social media votes that, even now, carry a lot of weight with the search engines.

Marketing Online Final Thoughts

With Google quickly adopting the trends of social media, finding a way to have massive amounts of real people vote for your content is absolutely critical for your success for marketing online, and TribePro is by far the best tool I have seen to do exactly that. If you are at all serious about staying ahead of the trends and keeping your business alive online then TribePro is absolutely essential. Which Marketing Strategies Are You Using? The Big 3 Internet Marketing Methods

Which Marketing Strategies Do You Use?

marketing strategiesEvery marketing guru out there tries to tout their technique and their method as being the best on Planet Earth. And it could be an exceptional practice that works effectively… for THEM. Hell, it may possibly even be helpful for others, however, as soon as you put these methods to use, it can be an enormous struggle. You feel completely at a loss in areas that should be second nature, and the deficiency of results is frustrating after all the long hours you’ve put into making it work. You see everybody succeeding like crazy, and so far here you are cranking away at your business every minute you can steal & you’re getting passed up like you’re standing still.

The Hidden Dangers of Not Knowing Your Preferred Marketing Strategies…

Practically every online marketing training system caters to one particular marketing style. Case in point, Facebook and Twitter techniques are highly rewarding, but if you’re not that outgoing to begin with then it is going to suck in a major way; it’s just not your natural style. What’s thoroughly necessary to achieve the triumph you crave at this moment, are marketing strategies suited to your style, but most people don’t even realize these various internet marketing strategies exist.

This article was written in order to help you find your number one marketing style so you can work the styles that feel practically second nature right away, so that way you can begin getting immediate results with your internet marketing business with negligible learning curve.

Finding Your Marketing Style: The Three Key Internet Marketing Strategies

Marketing Style #1 – The Analyst

This personality is brilliant with graphs, metrics, etc. This personality is someone who tends to be attracted to, and dominate with, techniques like banner ads, Pay Per Click and other sorts of paid approaches. This personality takes a very methodical style with their campaigns & discerns how to read, and in certain cases predict, trends to exploit.

Marketing Style #2 – The Creator

This personality is all about designing original content and spreading it for the entire world to see.  This individual will broadcast articles, videos, plus an intermittent shout out on the social networking sites to broadcast that a new exciting video or article is finished and up for your viewing or reading pleasure. This individual’s chief goal from an internet marketing standpoint is SEO or Search Engine Optimization, otherwise known as massive free traffic with minimum investment on maybe a tool or two to help shave some days, even weeks, off of their work time.

Marketing Style #3 – The Social Animal

This personality will head out to a bar mainly to meet more people, as opposed to just going out for drinks. The social scene is this person’s domain. The more people hanging on his/her every word, the better. This person will be attracted towards, and crush it in, the social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, and also effectively form communities in trendy social sharing sites such as YouTube and StumbleUpon.

Marketing Strategies Final Pointers

So In the long run, even if you think of yourself as a hermit, it would be a great idea to at least try your hand in the social networking field to learn how to generate immediate social buzz for your work. Just like if you do social media you will be doing insane amounts of work all the time with very little leverage, just to maintain that social buzz if you don’t set up a place online to develop fresh material. Of course every style comes with its own strengths and weaknesses, so regardless of which route you take at the beginning, be sure you find a way to eventually integrate the other two methods into your unique style… when you make it there.

But for when you are just beginning, stay with the style you naturally lean toward until you can do it with no problems and you have about 20-30 leads a day. Information ADD is by far one of the biggest killers of success in the internet marketing trade, but when you decide on one style that has been proven to get results, and you just roll with it until it works for you, and you STAY consistent with it, I can almost promise that you will succeed in this madcap profession of internet marketing.

Figuring out the internet marketing methods that will work with your style can be a hassle, but when you do, it can literally change your business and your life.
