What is Varolo?
Varolo is a Utah based company that opened its doors for business on April 1, 2010.
Varolo is an advertising platform that, when you fiil out a free profile form, sends you advertisements based on what you put down as your interests in the profile. It also gives people cash incentives to watch these ads in the form of weekly jackpots. It’s almost like purchasing lottery tickets, only instead of spending money to buy them, you get them by watching ads.
The network marketing portion comes into play when you invite other people to the service and form what they call a “village” of people to watch these ads, and you also get paid a percentage of the payout from the ads they watch. This is also where you get paid directly through watching the ads.
The Varolo Compensation Plan
Since Varolo is 100% free for members to use the money you get doesn’t come directly from the company, but essentially from the advertisers themselves. Since they no longer have to deal with other companies to blast their commercials on the airwaves to get their message across this saves them all kinds of money and it allows them to target specific people who are actually interested in seeing their ads, this allows them to actually pay the members who watch the ads in the form of a weekly jackpot lottery and those who refer people to the services in the form of residual income directly depositied into your PayPal account (if you have one.)
You don’t get paid from just watching the ads; this simply enters you for a chance at the weekly jackpot, and of course the more ads you watch, the more chances you have of winning said jackpot.
The monthly income part comes from inviting others to join the network and watch the ads. You get paid from your village watching these ads, down to 4 levels in depth.
Is Varolo a Legitimate Company?
As of February 4, 2012 The Better Business Bureau has Varolo ranked at A-. The only thing that reduced their ranking was the short length of time they have been in business. However, there have been zero complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau for the entire life of the business up to this point. As of now, Varolo looks to be a solid, legitimate company.
Final Thoughts on Varolo
To me Varolo sounds like a very low risk way of making money, since it costs nothing to start a membership and make money. The one issue I see is that, though there will be people that will gladly watch ads and get paid for it, getting friends to sign on to the same thing sounds easy in theory, but in practice you may not have enough of your friends and family join up with you to make much of an impact with your bank account. And harassing the same friends over and over again does not work.
The reality that no one seems to want to mention is if you’re really serious about making money in Varolo or any home-based venture you need a way to reach massive amounts of people that are readily seeking out what you have, to find out what you are doing to generate an income, whether it’s a couple dollars on the side, or something that could allow someone to walk away from their job if they wanted to.
Network Marketing is all about leverage and duplication, and you need the right tools to leverage your efforts right out the gate, as well as being able to guide your new team members to these tools so they can get traction in their business right out the gate, so they can quickly duplicate your success.
